Our Hearts are broken

This was supposed to be a weekend of celebration.

Families gathered beneath fireworks and stars. Children laughed by riversides. Camps like Mystic—filled with songs, prayers, and the joy of summer—were alive with the sounds of life.

But then, the rains came.

And the river rose.

And now, heartbreak has swept through the canyons of the Texas Hill Country.

As of this writing, more than 80 lives have been lost, and many more remain missing. Among them are children—young ones who were simply camping, playing, and making memories. The devastation is still unfolding. Rescue and recovery efforts continue. Families are still waiting for word, still hoping against all odds.

One of the hardest hit was Camp Mystic, a beloved Christian camp for kids. What stood as a place of safety and spiritual joy has been leveled by a 500-year flood. Tents, trails, and trust were all swept away in moments.

And yet, even in the floodwaters, we hold on.

We Grieve. We Pray. We Hope.

Here at Teeter Todd’s, we don’t just buy and sell—we tell stories. And this is a story we cannot ignore. Because the children lost had stories. The parents waiting have prayers. The first responders searching through mud and debris are carrying stories of quiet courage and unimaginable sorrow.

Our hearts are with them all.
